Here you can find a general guide to being in and leading your very own clan, as well as a list of currently active clans. If you have further questions, check out the forum FAQ or otherwise post for help in the Support board. If you wish to join a particular clan listed here, PM the listed clan leader or visit the Groups tab of their profile to send a join request directly to the group.
General Rules
So I've Just Created a Clan... Now What?
After PMing the admin your completed petition, your clan group and board will be made. You'll see in your profile, by going to the Groups tab, that your clan is now active. If you click on the link reading Manage Group, you'll be taken to a screen that allows you to add or ban members, as well as to approve or decline any requests members send to join your group from now on.
Likewise, you should now be able to see your clan board under the Clan Territories category. While the Site Rulebook is global and applies to your clan board as well, you can choose additional rules to apply to your board e.g. if members are allowed to post in-character or OOC or are allowed a mix of posting types and whether or not they can roleplay in the space. As the clan leader, you are also acting as a simple moderator to your board- you'll be granted the ability to sticky (keeps a topic at the top of a board), lock, bump and fall (prevent topics from being bumped by posting) threads as well as view poll voters for this board. If you need any assistance with this, contact a staff member and they'll be happy to help out!
So I've Just Joined a Clan... Now What?
If the clan is still in the petition stage, you just need to wait until it has gathered enough members to become established. Once you've joined an established clan, you have the option in your profile to make your clan membership visible or hidden to the forum. Likewise, if you've joined 2+ clans, you can use this function to choose which of your memberships to display in your profile (you can only have one at a time, sorry!). You can access this by editing your profile, and choosing the "Settings" tab where near the bottom you'll have an option reading "Display Group". Use the drop down box to select a particular clan or to choose that no clan be shown in your profile.
An established clan will have it's own board- once you've joined, the clan's board should become visible to you and you can post on there to discuss ideas or chat with other clan members.
I Need a Plot Approved!
If you are a clan member, this plot idea needs to be discussed with your clan and particularly your clan leader. It is up to your leader whether or not the clan chooses to then go forward with your idea- please do not take offence if they choose not to take on your plot idea. All clan plots need to be approved by the clan leader, even Romeo and Juliet style ones.
If you are the clan leader, you can request the approval of an admin for large plots concerning your clan (small plots do not require admin approval). If it is a plot that doesn't need to be kept secret from anyone, head over to the Plot Discussion board and make a post there. Be sure to select the "Approval Needed" label; to do this, while posting, click on the little cog wheel in the top right corner of your post, and mouse-over the Labels button. This will allow you to add the label with the according name and bring your thread to staff's attention. If it is a plot that is secretive in nature, please PM an admin for approval.

General Rules
- You can join up to 5 clans and can be the clan leader of 1 clan (this also counts as your 1 "joined" clan i.e. you can then lead 1 clan and join 4 others). Keep in mind that the more clans you join, the more problems you may have if plot conflicts arise between the clans.
- Clans may only have 1 leader per clan.
- If you abuse your power as clan leader, your position may be removed and given to someone else of the clan. This is determined by the clan members holding a discussion or vote of sorts on the clan board or DC:RP Site Discussion and then bringing this to the attention of an admin via PM, so that the admin can see that this is a sentiment shared by the majority of clan members.
- If you become inactive as a clan leader, your title will move to another clan member so as to keep the clan alive. Again, a similar process to reporting abusive clan leaders should be taken so that the admin can see the clan itself is still active and simply requires a new leader.
- If your clan falls inactive it may be removed for the sake of letting other clans to be formed.
- All large plots you want to take affect in the forum must be discussed with and approved by an admin first (see below on how to do this).
- You are allowed to start a clan vs clan fight, however if it becomes an extended or drawn-out battle (i.e. occurring across various boards and/or developing into a large plot), an admin must be consulted with first. Depending on the scale and nature of the battle, the clan leader should be consulted first. If one dragon happens to get into a fight with another, and both belong to separate clans, this is fine. But a planned clan battle involving more than one member from either clan should be consulted with the clan leader first.
- Any plots or plot ideas, big or small, must be passed through the clan leader; these are generally best discussed on the clan board itself. If the clan leader does not approve of an idea, and a member or members go through with it anyway, they are free to choose the consequences of said actions with regards to the clan e.g. removing or banning member(s) from the group. If necessary, they are welcome to contact staff members for assistance or problem mediation.
- You are allowed to permanently merge clans (more than one if necessary). One clan leader must be chosen to lead this newly forged clan, whether it be a former leader or not. You can also temporarily merge clans for extended plot purposes but please consult an admin before doing so. Temporary alliances are permitted as part of smaller plots and do not require an admin to be contacted- clan territory boards won't be shared in these cases.
