This is the forum's main FAQ. Have a read through, it may answer your question. If not, post in the Support Board and we'll do the best we can to answer your problem and I'll add the question to the FAQ if necessary.

FAQ:
Eggs In My Profile?
Yes Instead of using a Click Exchange thread, there is a system in your profile that loads your eggs or hatchlings in, where they will then display everywhere you post on the forum as part of your signature. The more you roleplay, the more views you get! To add an egg, go to your Profile, and select the Dragon Eggs tab. From there you can add and remove dragons; to remove a dragon that you already added, simply click on it. This system is also independent of your signature, so it won't count towards its character limit.
So, How Do I Get My Character?
You will need an account on Dragon Cave, and you can use the dragons you catch on your account's scroll. Be sure to read any available information on your dragon's breed to make sure you aren't making them do something that the breed itself wouldn't do.
Can I Role-play Here With Non-DC Dragons?
Unfortunately not. This role-play site is for DragCave dragons only.
Ready-made Synopsis Table?
Kudos to you for reading the rules so thoroughly Here is a small tabbed table you can include at the top of the post if you wish to have a neat and functional synopsis (Note: If using many characters, adjust the table's width at the bottom. Table cannot display in post preview but will post fine. Remove * symbols when posting):
Do I Have To Be An Advanced Role-Play To Be Here?
Nope! This site welcomes role-players of all levels and skills. In fact, if you want guidance from advanced players to sharpen your skills, head over to the Role-Play Training board! When you create a new thread there, click the Settings cog-wheel in the top right corner, and highlight the word "Labels". It will allow you to select the role-play level you want training for in the form of a thread label to make it clear to others what you want to learn.
OOC?
OOC stands for Out Of Character. It's when you speak as yourself instead of your character. During role-play, you use OOC to let the others know when you're talking as you and not your character; you do this by posting in OOC "tags", the most common tags are ((OOC: --)) or [OOC: --].
What's A Closed Topic?
Simply means that a role-playing thread is closed off to certain members. Anyone can do this and its very simple. Some people arrange with others to have a role-play thread just between them so to let others know they can't post in that thread they use OOC tags in the first post to say Closed and state the conditions. A feature unique to this forum is that people can close topics to a specific clan (or clans) without needing to organise it (unless the Leader states in the meeting board and such for plot reasons). But if you're role-playing with specific people make sure to organise it with them beforehand.
I Like Using a Specific Font/Style When RPing...
A neat trick for those familiar with bulletin board code, and used to having a personalised posting format for role play, can head over to their profile to load a posting template of sorts so that you don't need to keep retyping your formatting over and over again. Go to Profile > Edit Profile > Settings > Default BB Code. Here you can type in exactly all your formatting in the corresponding code, and this will load every time you reply to a forum topic. Note that this won't load in the "Quick Reply" section however.
What Prey Can Be Found Here?
Any animal that can be found where you're role-playing. You need to use your common sense here; you're not going to find fish on a mountain that has no water source. Also check the food status in the "Seasons & Clans" infobox to the left to check if food is readily available. You can also visit this thread for a more comprehensive explanation to what each status means.
What's A Clan?
It's essentially a group of dragons who come together to form a group for one reason or another. They are lead by a leader, who is generally the person who originally made the clan. Inner ranks within the clan are up to the leader's choice and the actions of the clan are also up to the leader.
How Can I Make My Own Clan?
Simply start a petition in the Start A Clan board by following the Guidelines thread in that board. Once the requirements have been fulfilled, PM an admin and your clan will be created.
Why Is The Clan Registration Board Closed??
Naturally, the majority of people will be starting clans instead of joining, and so there will be hundreds of open clans but no one joining them. If there is an over-abundance of clan petitions, the board will be closed to registrations so as to help the current clans grow their numbers. Registrations will re-open as petitions either succeed or fail, and space for new ones are made.
Where's My Clan?
If you or your clan is inactive for a long time, the clan may be closed down and removed to make space for other clans and to give them a chance. If you feel your clan can do better next time then try registering again.
Official Clans Are Formed With 6 Members...Do My Dragons Count?
No, the term members refers to actual people. So 6 actual people have to join your clan for it to be formed, regardless of how many dragons they bring in.
Can I Role-play Anywhere?
Anywhere that your particular dragon fulfills the board requirements. For example, if your dragon can't swim then it can't role-play in a board that says 'swimming dragons only'. For the most part, it's a free-reign though.
Can I Be A Staff Member?
Don't bother asking us, the answer is no and pestering us is just going to get you a one-way ticket out the door. When more staff members are needed, those who come to the attention of current staff will be sent out an invitation.
How Do I Change That Big Image Over My Mini-profile?
That image is called a "Hover Image". If you go into Edit Profile, and then to the Personal tab, you'll find a field with this name right at the bottom. Here, you can enter the URL to a replace image you want to use- it can be anything you like so long as it doesn't violate ProBoards TOS (common sense works well here). The forum will resize the image automatically but because of the limited width, displays it starting from the left, so part of the image may be cut off if it's too wide. In general, if the height is greater than the width, then it will resize to fit the space completely. Play around with different images to see what you get!
Who's This 'Higher One'?
The Higher One in role-play, is a Guardian of Nature who watches over these lands. Staff will use them in role-plays to ensure balance and rules are maintained.
Are There Any Humans Here?
At the moment, no. I may in the future make a city where humans flourish but that's still undecided. If you would like to offer your view on this, PM me.
Do I Need A Bio To Role-Play?
No. Making a biography is completely optional and up to you. If you do want to make some, use the Dragon Biographies board. You also don't have to follow any specific template to create a bio. The only thing to keep in mind is you're allowed one thread only in this board, and you cannot post on the threads of other members.
What's God-modding/Power-playing/Auto-hitting?
God-modding is making your character invincible and dodging everything.
Auto-hitting is hitting your opponent automatically in battle or otherwise. Give your opponent a chance to dodge. If he or she always dodges, that is known as god-modding.
Power-playing is controlling another person's character and saying they took actions they did not.
All of these are prohibited on this forum. If anyone is engaging in these behaviours in a role-play, report the issue to staff immediately.
Can I Kill Off My Character?
If that is what you wish, yes. You can have them killed at any site that allows battling. State in OOC in the beginning of your thread so other members know what you wish. Remember though, once your character is gone, it cannot return to DCRP.
Are Hatchlings Allowed Only In "Hatchling Only" Areas?
No, they are free to wonder the lands as they will. At their own risk of course.
Can My Dragon's Mate Belong To Another Person?
Absolutely, just make sure to discuss this with the other person (it might be a rather big surprise to them otherwise!).
