[PTab=Forum Rules]
- If you intend to start a thread, do it in the appropriate forum. Please read each forum description before posting to ensure you are posting in the correct forum.
- Multiple or repeated posting, double posting, whether or not in order to increase your post count is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. This includes posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) nonsense posts, or the likes.
- Bumping can only be done once every 5 days on your thread.
- Grave-digging (the act of posting in a thread which hasn't received any attention/posts in over 3 weeks) is not allowed. If you find an old thread that hasn't been locked, PM/contact a staff member about it.
- Try and stay on topic. That is, do not post content that is irrelevant to the thread's current topic of discussion. If you wish to discuss something else, post in or start another thread.
- English is the only language to be spoken publicly on the forum. If you wish to talk to someone in a different language, you are welcome to do so in a Private Message/Conversation.
- Please refrain from posting in a confusing or offensive manner. That includes excessive uses of capital letters, bold characters, large font sizes and 1337, or variations thereof (this includes "text" language). Use colour and marquee tags sparingly.
- Swearing is generally permitted. However, the language cannot be used to severely abuse others.
- Advertising, spamming and trolling are not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Personal Message system to spam other members.
- Do not post content pertaining to offensive or obscene material, pornographic material, nudity, racism, hatred, profanity or ways to gain money. This includes the linking of illegal websites.
- Discrimination or hate speech of any sort will not be tolerated on these forums. This includes but is not limited to gender, disability, political beliefs, sexual preference, ethnicity/race and religious beliefs.
- Posting a bunch of nonsense just to lengthen your post is strictly prohibited.
- Your signature, avatar or personal photo must not contain offensive, obscene material, nudity or sexually implicit material of any kind.

[PTab=Roleplay Rules]
- All dragons you role play on this forum must be from the DragCave world and must be found on your scroll. If you do not have a particular species of dragon on your scroll, you cannot role play it here!
- There are no humans on this continent- please do not roleplay with them. Whilst other fictional creatures of your own creation are permitted within reason (such as your dragon having a companion), the dragon(s) should be the main focus of the roleplay.
- All role playing is to be done in English. This is simply to avoid problems with people breaking rules and getting them past staff. This forum is for all levels of role playing, so even if English isn't your first language, you are welcome to try and learn in the process. Like all members though, we ask that you run your post through a Spell Checker to make sure it is legible. If you're struggling to find the right words, Google Translate can come in handy.
- Making a biography for your characters is completely optional and up to you. If you do want to make some, use the Dragon Biographies to do so. You are allowed 1 thread there only but as many posts in it as you want. You are only allowed to post in your own thread.
- Make an effort to role play. This site is for all role play levels but constant one lined posts and posts which hold terrible spelling and grammar (people who obviously haven't used Spell Check) will get you a one-way ticket out the door.
- Respect each other- very simple. Keep the fighting in role play and try not to pick a fight if the other member(s) doesn't want to fight. See staff for any issues with other members. If you see a fight happening, please do not try mediate it- contact a staff member and let them handle the situation.
- Swearing is generally permitted. However, the language cannot be used to severely abuse.
- Mild sexual innuendo and references permitted. No explicit representations or references to genitalia or sex acts.
- Graphic violence is permitted. Explicit description or narration violence is allowed.
- In your first post on a role play thread, you must specify in some way what species your dragon(s) is. This can be done by making a short synopsis at the top of the thread and including your dragon's details, or by simply mentioning it during the role play. This is simply so that others can quickly recognise what specie your dragon(s) is and role play accordingly. If you wish to post your dragon's sprite, you can find them here. If you want a ready-made neat table to post your synopsis in, you can find one here.
- When you leave a thread permanently, please state that you have done so in OOC.
- You cannot have the same character in multiple threads. You can however, have multiple dragons in one single thread (there is no limit to how many- use your own judgement for this).
- You are allowed to close threads to certain members, specific clans, a specific role-playing levels or just have it open. Either state in OOC right at the beginning of your thread who you are targeting your thread to (whether it be open to all or closed to whoever) or use posting labels to mark your thread (in the post's Subject line, to the right is the settings button: click this for a drop down menu to see 'Labels'). If you don't state anything, it is allowed to be assumed that its open for all.
- You are allowed to battle other random DragCave dragons that don't belong to members or yourself in your post and you are allowed to control that random dragon and battle as you wish. It is highly recommended however that the only time you kill these random dragons is when the relations are set to "Deathly".
- Godmodding and power playing are strictly prohibited. The only thing you can control are your own dragons, battles against random DragCave dragons and prey your dragon is hunting. There is no instant killing and if you attack, it is your opponent's choice whether it hits, just like it is your choice for their attacks to hit. Don't be a sore-loser though and constantly dodge another member's attacks, it's not fun that way since they'll also dodge your attacks and the fight won't go anywhere.
- Please check in with an admin when it comes to extended plots, whether in clans or done individually, so that staff know it's ok to give you leeway with certain boundaries or roleplay rules.
- Killing of other dragons that belong to members is strictly prohibited. The only time you can kill a member's dragon is when they specifically request you to do so, most likely as part of a plot of some kind that was previously agreed on. Killing of random DragCave dragons that do not belong to anyone is allowed, but it is strongly recommended to follow the forum's diplomatic relations; if relations are peaceful, it is very unlikely dragons will be fighting to the death. Notable exceptions are character or clan plots that have been previously discussed and/or agreed upon.
- Once killed, a character cannot return to the forums so be wise in your choice...
- Mutinies, unless in a previously discussed plot, are forbidden so you cannot overthrow your clan leader. The only way the clan leader can lose his/her title is if they are being abusive of their power over the clan or if they have become inactive but the clan remains alive. If you're having a plot where the clan leader no longer wants to be leader and asks to have this specific type of plot, then a mutiny is allowed (be sure to post this is the Plot Discussion board to be approved).
- You are allowed to join up to 5 clans but you can only be a clan leader to one clan. You are allowed to return to a clan you previously left but being accepted is up to the clan leader's choice and staff do not take responsibility for his/her choice.
- Merging of clans permanently is allowed although requires staff approval. Forming temporary merges for small plot purposes are allowed and no approval is needed (note though that in this case, neither clan will have access to the other's clan board).
