Have a read through, it may answer your question. If not, post in the Support Board and we'll do the best we can to answer your problem and I'll add the question to the FAQ if nessessary. Below is the topic list of all the topics that can be found. If looking for something in particular you can press Ctrl+F to find it faster. NOTE: Just to make clear; made up dragons and random dragons are DIFFERENT THINGS. Made Up dragons are the dragons that people who don't have DragCave dragons created. Random dragons are those anyone can just put in their thread(obviously remember that in the DragCave land the random dragon has to be from the DragCave site dragons). Made Up dragons like DragCave dragons cannot be killed unless the owner asks so Randoms however, no one cares about them =) . FAQ: Where Do I Get My Character?? You must visit the Dragon Cave site to steal an egg then follow the instructions by getting people to click your egg to hatch it into a dragon which you can use as your character here. Can I Role-play Here Even If I Don't Have Dragon Cave Dragons? Yes but only in the Guest Island. It's optional but you can create biographies for these made up dragons in the Guest Biographies board. The main purpose of this island is for those who have their first eggs and are waiting for them to hatch/grow but random role-players can also go here for a bit of fun with our members. Members here can also role-play there with a made up dragon or their Dragon Cave dragon. It is unrecommended for members who have Dragon Cave dragons to dwell more in the Guest Island than in the DragCave Lands. Can I, A Member With DragCave Dragons, Role-play In The Guest Island? Yes. You can make up your own dragons to role-play there or go with your own DragCave dragons. It's discouraged though for members who have DragCave dragons to create make up dragons to role-play there with. Can I Create A Biography For A Random Dragon? Yes but it must be created in the Guest Biographies board, located inside the Dragon Center board. OOC? OOC= Out Of Character. Its when you speak as yourself not your character. During role-play, you use OOC to let the others know when you're talking as you and not your character, you do this by posting in OOC tags, the most common tags are ((OOC: --)) or [OOC: --]. What's A Closed Topic? Simply means that a role-playing thread is closed off to certain members. Anyone can do this and its very simple. Some people arrange with others to have a role-play thread just between them so to let others know they can't post in that thread they use OOC tags to say Closed between Such and Such. A feature unique to this forum is that people can close topics to a specific clan(or clans) without needing to organise it(unless the Leader states in the meeting board and such for plot reasons). But if you're role-playing with specific people make sure to organise it with them beforehand. What Prey Can Be Found Here? Any animal that can be found where you're role-playing. You need to use your common sense here, you're not going to find fish on a mountain that has no water source. Also check the food status in the top info table to check if food is readily available. Bountiful- Its extremely rare NOT to find prey. Plentiful- There's much prey to be eaten. Readily Available- Less prey is available but some can still be found. Scarce- Its extremely rare that you CAN find prey. The best sources in these conditions is fish and any sick animals that couldn't migrate and any animals that don't migrate. There Are Password Protected Boards, Why? Those are special role-playing boards that you have to buy the passwords of in the Shop thread that's in the Dragon Center board. You can buy various other things with the money you collect up on this board. What's A Clan? Basically, its a tribe. In our case, its a tribe of dragons, dragons come together to form a group for one reason or another. They are lead by the Leader, the person who originally made the clan. Inner ranks within the clan are up to the Leader's choice and the actions of the clan are also up to the Leader. How Can I Make My Own Clan? Simply start a petition in the Start A Clan board by following the Guidelines thread in that board. Once the requirements have been fulfilled, PM me and your clan will be created. Why Is The Clan Registration Board Closed?? Naturally, the majority of people will be starting clans and so there will be hundreds of open clans but no one joining them. So when I feel there is an overabundence of clan petitions I will close the board to registrations. I will open it again once I feel the blockage has passed. Where's My Clan? If you or your clan is inactive for a long time the clan will be shutdown and removed to make space for other clans and to give them a chance. If you feel your clan can do better next time then try registering again. Can I Role-play Anywhere? Anywhere that your particular dragon fulfils the board reqirements. For example, if your dragon can't swim then it can't role-play in a board that says 'swimming dragons only'. Can I Be A Staff Member? Don't bother asking us, the answer is no and pestering us is just going to get you a one-way ticket out the door. When I feel that we need more staff members I will contact people who I think can do the job. Who's This 'Higher One'? The Higher One in role-play, is an ancient dragon in spirit who is said to watch over all the lands. Out of role-play, its me who makes sure everyone is abiding by the role-play rules Every staff member will have their own special "ancient dragon in spirit" to be called by a name which again is just themselves. Are There Any Humans Here? At the moment, no. I may in the future make a city where humans flourish but that's still undecided. If you would like to offer your view on this, PM me. Official Clans Are Formed With 6 Members...Do My Dragons Count? No, by members I mean actual people. So 6 actual people have to join your clan for it to be formed, regardless of how many dragons they bring in. Do I Need A Bio To Role-Play? No. Making a bio is completely optional and up to you. If you do want to make some, use the Dragon Biographies sub-board of the Dragon Center. You also don't have to follow any template to make a bio. What's God-modding/Power-playing/Auto-hitting? God-modding is making your character invincible and dodging everything. Auto-hitting is hitting your opponent automatically in battle or otherwise. Give your opponent a chance to dodge. If he or she always dodges, that is known as godmoding. Power-playing is controlling another person's character and saying they took actions they did not. All of these are prohibited on this forum. Can I Kill Off My Character? If that is what you wish, yes. You can have them killed at any site that allows battling. State in OOC in the beginning of your thread so other members know what you wish. Are Hatchlings Allowed Only In "Hatchling Only" Areas? No, they are free to wonder the lands as they will. At their own risk of course. Can I Use Altered Images To Display As My DragCave Dragon? Yes but only altered slightly. That means no drastic colour changes (since most species are based on their colour) or major body works. People must still be able to recognise them as DragCave dragons. You can also use old sprites from the DragCave site or sprites that were used for consideration of use for your selected specie during the Sprite Replacement Project. If you don't know much about this, it is best to leave your dragon sprite as it is. Can My Dragon's Mate Belong To Another Person? Yeah sure. I've thought of this and if you also want to produce an egg, one of you picks who will keep it on their scroll and then just pick up a random egg of the chosen species and after hatching, write in the description something like this: Role-play information: Mother: Father: etc. This works better if the egg was obtained in a cave drop rather then bred. « Last Edit: Jan 10, 2009, 5:24am by Dracore [Away] » Link to Post - Back to Top   Logged Enter my Cave Proud supporter of these two old sprites.
